ÉPOCA ES POCA COSA
Argentina, 2021, 03’ 00, super 8, HD, sound, German Premiere

WATER & WALL
USA, 2021, 09’ 00, 16mm, HD, sound, German Premiere

Camille Pueyo
DESTIERRO
France, 2020, 03’ 18, VHS, HD, sound

A video made from VHS family movies shot by the artist’s father at his parents’ place and on Argele's beach. The voice of the Spanish grand-father sharing his experience of republican exile and civil war meets the voice of the father speaking of his own experiences of being the son of Spanish refugees. The dialogue between past and present creates a transgenerational film about the trauma of war and the intimate consequences of exile.

THE FOLLOWING IMAGES NEVER HAPPENED
France, 2022, 07’ 12, found footage, 4K, sound, World Premiere

“The following images never happened” is a found-footage film based on a 35mm trailer of the American action film TWISTER (Jan de Bont, 1996). It refers to an incident of collective hallucination of a screening that never took place: the May 22, 1996, screening at the Can-View Drive-In in southern Canada, was cancelled due to a tornado alert. The spectators who attended that night nevertheless constructed a memory of having watched the film in the middle of a storm. TWISTER, “The Following Images Never Happened” is a personal and fragmentary reconstruction of a screening that never happened.

PAPAGALO, WHAT'S THE TIME?
Belgium, Estonia, 2022, 07’ 00, 16mm, HD, sound, Berlin premiere

The film Papagalo, What's the Time? explores the architecture of the former Yugoslavian pavilion from Brussels World Expo 1958 in its current function as Sint-Pauluscollege. The camera follows a group of kids playing at the site of the building, moving from the outdoors to the interior spaces. The film creates poetic exchange between the double life of the building: the utopian pavilion of a now non-existing country and its new life in its current function as a school building. It’s the playful f(r)iction between the past and present between the moving bodies and solid walls.
